My First Week as a Mad Fox Employee!

I am so unbelievably proud, happy and a nervous moving on to working solely on Mad Fox Brewing Company.  It has been a hard year working on organizing the capital raise while still brewing full-time at Vintage 50, putting on two beer festivals and doing part-time work for AC Beverage but here I am.  The greatest part of it all will be getting back the 2 to 3 or more hours per day that I was commuting to Leesburg from home in Alexandria. 

We have been working closely with our Architect, Lee McAllister, to lay out the restaurant, kitchen and brewery and meet with him every three days or so.  The three days between allow Lee to think thru and draw all that we discussed.  Although it would seem simple to allocate all the separate function (kitchen, brewery, restaurant) since we have such a large space at 9116 square feet but every time we get to putting all that is needed in it seems smaller and smaller.

Tomorrow we meet with the Mechanical and Electrical Power Engineer and look over all the requirements necessary.  I also got an e-m today from our Brewery Consultant that he is waiting to hear back on the specs for two brewing systems that fit our parameters.  I hope there is a JV Northwest system in there but that is just too much to ask.

  1. It sounds like everything is beginning to move forward at a brisk pace, I know you must be pleased. I read through your blog at went to the JVNW website to better understand what that was all about…very impressive.   2. Bill, I am glad to hear that plans are moving slowly. I am really anxious to get to the restaurant once it is open and taste the beer AND the food! Best of luck in the upcoming months, keep blogging, it is great to be updated on the restaurant.
