CATOCTIN KÖLSCH:  German style golden ale that originates in the Cologne region.  This style of beer is brewed with around 12% Wheat malt, the rest of the grist being German Pilsner malt.  Restrained hop bitterness can be discerned by the use of German noble hops such as Hallertau, Hersbrucker or Tettnang varietals.  This style of beer is protected by the “Kölsch Konvention” pact signed in 1986 by 24 breweries in and around Cologne that is recognized by the German Government and allows these breweries exclusive rights to the word Kölsch to describe their beer.  SERVED IN PILS GLASS

LEESBURG’s 250th ANNIVERSARY 80 SHILLING ALE:  A Scottish style 80 Shilling made with English pale and crystal malts and a touch of roasted barley.  This version also has some flaked oats to round out the mouthfeel and smooth malt flavours.  There is a touch of hops used in small Scottish amounts and they are English First Gold hop varietals. SERVED IN ENGLISH PINT GLASS

NOT MY FAULT ALT:  A Dusseldorf style “Alt” which means “Old’ in German referring to the old method of using ale yeast strains for fermentation.  This highly hopped bronze ale utilizes the German Spalt varietal of hops with a goodly amount of German pilsener and munich malts with a touch of chocolate wheat malt for depth and color.  SERVED IN PILS GLASS

ANGELS SHARE:  Our version of a Belgian style Pale Ale with a twist, spiced with Szechuan Peppercorns.  Brewed with pale, crystal and touch of munich malt and then spiced with a light touch of Saaz hops.  This beer is then fermented with a Belgian yeast strain from the  Rochefort brewery.  Light burnished bronze in color with an accent on malt sweetness and a focus on fruit flavors from the yeasts fermentation. SERVED IN PILS GLASS

50 CAT IPA:  An American style India Pale Ale.  This medium bodied, light copper hued brew has an aggressive hop character and flavour from the use of American hops in dry hopping.  Our interpretation comes in at 13.5 degrees plato with IBU’s in the mid 40’s.  The American hop varietals used as Kettle additions were Centennial and then dry hopped with Chinook. SERVED IN ENGLISH PINT GLASS

OATMEAL STOUT:  English style robust stout made with the addition of a small percentage of flaked oats.  Our version is made with English Pale, Chocolate, Black and Crystal malts with an addition of Roasted Barley.  This brew is also lightly hopped with imported English Goldings hop varietal.  SERVED IN ENGLISH PINT GLASS

WEE HEAVY ALE:  A Strong Scotch Ale.  This is a very full bodied, dark, rich brew with a sweet malt character of much depth possessing the flavours of toffee, plums and currents.  The hop varietal used in such small amount is English First Gold and can be barely discerned.  The target gravity for this brew is 20 degrees plato and hop bitterness of just 14 IBU’s
