I’m Bill Madden, a professional brewer and entrepreneur. I’m working on the startup of Mad Fox Brewing Company in Northern Virginia. When I’m not working on Mad Fox, I am brewing at Vintage 50 Restaurant and Brew Lounge, doing consulting work for AC Beverage or organizing major area beer festivals. I like to spend time with my lovely wife Beth (the Little Fox) and my schweinhund Pongo. Luckily, they both love beer.

I’ll spare you the resume bragging here, there is enough over at the Mad Fox web site and I’m not really about the past. A few things I’m proud of are my brewing credentials:

• I attended the UC Davis Masterbrewers Program in 1995 and sat for and passed the Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD), London, Brewing Examination.
• As Executive Brewer, I have opened and operated 7 brewpubs in the Washington, DC area for Capitol City Brewing Company, Founders Restaurant and Brewing Company and Vintage 50.
• I am a Beer Judge Certification Program certified beer judge. I’ll be a first-time judge at GABF this year.
• My customers and friends like my beer. I’ve won 9 national medals at GABF and the Chicago Real Ale Festival from the best beer judges on the planet, but they don’t buy my beer.

Enough introspection, it makes me thirsty.
